Where some is good, more has to be better- right?  Maybe if it's pizza and time outside, but not when it comes to fiber and 'low carb' products.  In fact, the more you eat could sabotage your progress (performance, weight, and stomach issues).

Lindsay and I tackle why in the episode the sweek.
I also referenced an article I wrote on the topic that you can find linked here if you'd like to dive in deeper.

You may have never thought about how to manage the situation if you get low blood sugars in the backcountry, but you probably should.  For example:
What if you train with someone who is?  Do you know how to treat them if you’re far away from help and they need it?
What if you yourself have problems with low blood sugars during an event- do you know how to take care of yourself if you’re far away from help
What if you run into someone else who needs help?
Paul and I talk through all of these things plus a resources he’s built called Wild Diabetic.
It’s a great conversation and I think you’ll find several great take-a-ways that will serve as an asset in your personal skills as someone who enjoys time outdoors whether your a diabetic or not.

You can't always trust what's on the food label of a product under the heading of "protein".  It's not that companies mislead you (they don't), it's that not all protein is created as equal when you look at muscle building properties.

We dive into that AND answer the question on how to stretch your dollar and meet your daily protein goals (plus some extras!)

We could argue there's been nothing more controversial in the world of nutrition than carbs, dietary fat, and salt.

One minute you hear we should have no sodium and most recently that we should be eating more.  What complicates the matter is the backcountry meals we consume contain almost 100% of our daily salt need.  What's THAT mean for our long-term health?

We dive into that and more this week on the podcast!
